API Keys

API keys authenticate your requests to the Dejacast API. Each request must include an active API key.

Go to Settings → API Keys. Only administrators can open this page.

Create an API key​

  1. Click Add new API Key.
  2. Enter an API Key name that tells you where the key is used, for example "Website CMS".
  3. Keep Status on so the key can be used right away.
  4. Click Save.

The new key appears in the list. Click the copy button next to it to copy it to your clipboard.

Treat API keys like passwords. Keep them on your servers and never put them in public web pages or apps, where anyone could read them.

Deactivate or delete an API key​

  • Deactivate: click the ⋮ menu on the key's row, select Edit, turn off Status and click Save. Inactive API keys don't authorize API requests, and you can turn them back on later.
  • Delete: click the ⋮ menu on the key's row and select Delete API Key, then confirm.

To replace a key that may have been exposed, create a new key, update your integration to use it, then delete the old key.
