OmniView outstream ad units
OmniView delivers video ads in your article, without any associated video content.
OmniView is an outstream placement: the player appears in the page only to play an ad. If no video ad is returned, you can show a fallback ad unit instead (a passback).
Configuring OmniView using Dejacast Dashboard
- Step 1: Login using your account credentials into Dejacast Dashboard, that can be accessed at app.dejacast.com
- Step 2: Navigate to Settings > Players and choose the player you want to configure. Make sure Allow advertising is enabled.
- Step 3: On the Edit Player page, use the top navigation bar to go to Advertising, then scroll down to OmniView.
- Step 4: Click add OmniView tag and enter your VAST tag in OmniView VAST Tag.
- Step 5 (optional): In Setup a Passback Ad Tag, add the code of a fallback ad unit. It's displayed whenever the VAST response doesn't return an ad.
- By default, the passback ad is shown only when no video ad was received.
- Turn on Passback Always On to show the passback ad every time, after the video ad is complete.
- Step 6: Click Save Ads.
Adding OmniView to your page
Once a VAST tag is set, the Using OmniView box shows the code to insert in your page or web view. It has this structure:
<div id="dejacast_omniview_x" style="width: 100%; max-width: 640px; position: relative; min-height: 300px;"></div>
<script type="text/javascript"
onload="invokePlayerOutstream('[VAST_TAG]','dejacast_omniview_x', false)"
src="https://app.dejacast.com/player/[PLAYER_SLUG]/outstream.js">
</script>
[VAST_TAG]is filled in with the OmniView VAST tag of the player.[PLAYER_SLUG]is the ID of the player.dejacast_omniview_xis the ID of the container where the ad is displayed. If you add more than one OmniView unit to a page, give each container a unique ID and use the same ID in itsinvokePlayerOutstreamcall.
Copy the code from the dashboard and paste it where the ad should appear in your article.
