Availability
News Reel must be enabled for your account. If it isn't, the News Reel button in the Media Library is disabled and the News Reel Config tab shows "News Reel not configured for your account". Contact [email protected] to enable it.

1. RSS feed scheduler
Use case
The RSS feed scheduler is the preferred option for automatically generating videos, with a set-and-forget approach.
Steps to enable and set up:
- Step 1: Login using your account credentials into Dejacast Dashboard, that can be accessed at app.dejacast.com
- Step 2: Navigate to Publishers -> All Publishers and choose the publisher you want to configure.
- Step 3: Select the News Reel Config tab. The tab lists the existing configs with their show, status, run frequency, slide settings and last run. Click Create new config, or open an existing config to edit it. Each show can have one config, so only shows without a config can be selected for a new one. Set up the following:

| Slide duration | Numeric (seconds) | Set the duration of each slide in seconds. |
| Default category title | Text | This title will be displayed if the RSS feed does not include a category. |
| Excluded categories | Text | Specify categories to exclude from the generated videos. This is usually used to filter out advertising categories. |
| Logo | Image upload On | Off | Upload or drag and drop an image to be used as the publisher logo, and use the Active switch to show or hide it in the videos. |
| Category background | Color code (#hex) | Set the background color for the category title using a hex color code. |
| Category text color | Color code (#hex) | Set the text color for the category title using a hex color code. |
| Background audio | No audio | Audio 1-5 | Random | Select the background audio for the video from the provided options or allow the system to randomly select one of the tracks. |
| Video Orientation | Landscape | Portrait | Choose the orientation for the generated videos, either landscape or portrait. |
| Bumper intro | Upload On | Off | Upload the image or video to show before the news sequence, and use the Active switch to enable or disable it. |
| Intro Bumper Type | Image | Video | Choose the type of media for the intro bumper. |
| Video bumper duration | Numeric (seconds) | The number of seconds the bumper to stay visible before the news sequence. If the bumper type is video, the video duration will be limited to this value. |
- Step 4: Click Create new config (or Save config when editing). To also generate a video right away, click Create new config and generate a new video (or Save config and generate a new video). All resulting videos can be found in the Media Library, under their respective show.
2. API request
Use case
The API request is the option for generating News Reel videos on demand, for content that is not publicly distributed, or not available via RSS feeds.

3. Manual content input
Use case
A basic and quick way to try the look and feel of News Reel feature.
- Step 1: Navigate to Media Library
- Step 2: Click the News Reel button, in the top-right corner of the window.
- Step 3: Fill the form in the modal, by setting up the following:

| Publisher | Dropdown | Select the publisher for the video from the dropdown list. |
| Show | Dropdown | Select the show that will include the video from the dropdown list. |
| Callback URL | URL (Optional) | Enter a callback URL that will be notified once the video is created. This field is optional. |
| Items | Button (Add Item) | Click the "Add Item" button to add news items to the video. |
| Create video | Button | Click this button to create the video based on the configured settings and items. |
| Close | Button | Click this button to close the video generator without creating a video. |
News Reel Callbacks:
If a callback_url was provided, check the expected callback request for the News Reel being successfully created.
