General player integration

Dejacast offers a fully featured video player, enabling publishers with a wide variety of options and configurations.

There are two ways of getting your video content up and running in the Dejacast player:

Using Dejacast Publisher API

The complete documentation regarding Dejacast API can be accessed here.

Using Dejacast Dashboard

  • Step 1: Login using your account credentials into Dejacast Dashboard, that can be accessed at app.dejacast.com
  • Step 2: Go to Media Library by using the left-side menu bar
  • Step 3: If no videos were uploaded to your account, click Upload video files or Upload from URL. See Upload Videos.
  • Step 4: Soon after uploading the video, it will become visible in the media library list.
Once the status is FINISHED the video can be embedded in the website
  • Step 5: Click the video and open the Embed Video tab
  • Step 6: In Choose player, select the player to use. Click Preview in player to check how it looks.
  • Step 7: Keep Include SEO on to add the video's SEO metadata to the embed code automatically.
  • Step 8: Click Copy embed code and paste the script tag in your website.

If the selected player is configured for OmniFocus, click Show OmniFocus code to get the embed code for an OmniFocus unit. See Floating OmniFocus video ad units.

To embed a whole show instead of a single video, see Use Show as a Playlist.

Configuring player behavior

All player options can be configured via the Dashboard, by navigating to Settings > Players and selecting the desired player to be configured, or clicking Add new player. Some of the options are also available as query parameters, passed in the embed script URL.

Each player has a Player ID, shown in the ID column of the players list and at the top of the player's settings. You use it in embed codes. A player can be available to All publishers or to a single publisher.

Ad Blocker behaviour

In the player's Advertising tab, you can choose what happens when a viewer uses an ad blocker:

  • Disable player if Ad Blocker is present: the player doesn't load.
  • Disable autoplay if Ad Blocker is present: the player loads, but the viewer has to start the video.

For the ad settings of the player, see Standard video ad units and the other Monetization guides.
