Upload Videos

Learn how to upload and generate video content on Dejacast.

Uploading video content to Dejacast allows you to manage your media library in one place:

  • Publish videos on your websites and applications
  • Share videos on social media platforms
  • Monetize your content through advertising
  • Recommend videos and embed contextually relevant videos in articles
  • Analyze and optimize video performance
Before you start

You need at least one publisher and one show before you can upload videos.

Upload a video​

You can upload videos from your computer by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Media Library in the Dejacast dashboard and click Upload video files in the upper right corner.
  2. Select the Publisher and Show the videos will belong to. Turn off Active if the videos should not be available for playback right away.
  3. Click Click to select files or drag and drop them here and choose one or more videos from your computer, or drag them into the window.
  4. When a file finishes uploading, Upload complete and a thumbs-up icon appear next to it. Click Close to return to the Media Library.

The videos then appear in the Media Library and are processed. Once a video's status is FINISHED, it can be played and embedded.

You can also upload directly to a show: go to Shows and click the upload icon on the show's row, or open the show and click Upload.

Import from URL​

If you have many videos or large files, it might be more convenient to import the videos directly into Dejacast from external sources using their URLs. You can import up to 100 videos at once by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Media Library in the Dejacast dashboard and click Upload from URL in the upper right corner.
  2. Select the Publisher and Show the videos will belong to, and choose whether they should be Active.
  3. List the direct URLs of the videos you want to import, one per line, and click Upload urls. A confirmation message tells you whether all the videos can be read correctly.
  4. Click Close to return to the Media Library.

Find videos in the Media Library​

Use Search Filters at the top of the Media Library to find videos. You can search by title, description, tags or UUID, and filter by publisher, show, publish date range, active status, and whether the video is a full-show recording (Fullshow). Click Apply to filter, or Reset filters to clear them. The dashboard remembers your filters when you come back to the Media Library.
